Santorini is a wonderful place for spending a few days away from the usual boring life. Overlooking the Aegean Sea, this Greek Island is everything about white and blue. The villas, hotels, and other properties are painted in matte white color in combination with other shades which make the island look elegant and pristine.

When we planned our trip to Santorini, we had to book our own transportation as we didn’t want to rely on the local transportations. Our plan to stay in the island was quite huge but the time was limited and that’s what made us hire a private transportation from Santorini Airport to hotel that we booked.

Many people might consider our decision to be extravagant or unnecessary. But let us tell you our experience with the private transportations and how beneficial it was for us.

No waiting for local transportation

From our few travel experiences, we have learnt that when one has to wait outside the airport for local transports, it can cause a lot of hassles. In addition, we were new to Santorini and we didn’t want to face all the roadblocks with the local busses and cabs. That’s why we hired the private transportation. After we landed, we just had to wait for a couple of minutes till we received a call from the driver saying that the car was ready.

Highly safe and secured ride

Yes, we were a little sceptical in booking a private transportation from Santorini Airport to hotel. But then we studied the reviews and learned that these transportations are highly secured and completely safe. There was nothing to be scared of, especially since the driver had his license and we were able to track ourselves on the map.

Cars are available for the entire time

Finding transportation at night is very difficult, no matter which place one is travelling to. We knew that if we landed at night, we would have to wait in the airport lounge till the next morning for availing the public transports. But then we came across the concept of hiring a private car. When we searched through the services, we came to know that there is no time restriction in their car services. So, even if we reached Santorini at 11 PM, a car will be waiting for us with an experienced driver.

To be honest, our experience with the private transportation from the Santorini airport to our hotel was amazing. All in all, the driver was super-friendly and he even dropped us right in front of the hotel. Even though his English was a little broken, he spotted some of the best sites to visit in Santorini during our ride.
